Domolandes is a technological hub created in September 2011 devoted to sustainable construction. This local public company (LPC), the first of its kind in the Landes, is the fruit of a partnership between the Conseil général des Landes and the Communauté de Communes de Maremne Adour Côte Sud (MACS).
Located on the Atlantisud business park in Saint-Geours-de-Maremne, the aim of Domolandes is to:
- facilitate the creation and development of innovative companies.
- accompany companies in the building sector in making the necessary changes in light of the economic, social and environmental challenges facing them.
- encourage the establishment of companies specialising in sustainable construction.
- develop innovation on themes linked to the future of sustainable construction.
- create real dynamics of local eco-construction.
Located on a plot covering 4,700 sq. m, Domolandes can host 35 companies, with 15 in the business nursery and 20 in the business hotel.
The hub is also home to a technical platform, ten workshops ranging in size from 50 sq. m to 300 sq.m, a very high-speed Internet system calling on fibre optics, 12 offices and a cafeteria.
In addition to the business nursery and hotel, Domolandes also boasts a cluster focussing on sustainable construction and serving as a meeting and discussion forum for companies, craftspeople, researchers and local industrialists.
La construction durable : un enjeu majeur
La notion de consruction durable, ou éco-construction, s'applique à toute construction économe en énergie et en ressources, s'intégrant dans son environnement sans pour autant mettre de côté le confort et la santé de ses occupants.
En d'autres termes, construire durable revient à relever les défis du développement durable dans le secteur du bâtiment.
Mis en lumière par le Grenelle de l'environnement, la construction durable est aujourd'hui devenue incontournable et les entreprises de la filière du bâtiment intègrent de plus en plus cette approche dans leur développement.
Le pôle Domolandes est né de ce constat, de cette volonté de construire et rénover autrement, durablement, aux côtés des entreprises.
